Retreat Day
Stop; rest; restore; engage
Sunday 12th January. 10-3:15.
£30
They will be spacious with an emphasis on taking us through the day with invitations to land, stop, rest, cultivating curiosity and engagement with wise choices for self care.
There will be breaks and opportunities to take time out and do whatever you need to do to self care.
It is time for you to explore how you can rest and make caring choices.
You may live with fatigue and related symptoms due to ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia, long covid. These conditions often mean rest and relaxation are very challenging due to the dysregulation people experience. The practices and the approach to the day is designed with this is very much in mind and will be an opportunity to enhance self management strategies in a supportive group with a highly experienced facilitator.
You may also be interested in learning about the practices we have developed in the mindfulness based therapy for managing fatigue programme, and want to incorporate them into your therapy or mindfulness teaching. Learning how to use them for yourself and making them your own is key to effective sharing of practice.
You are very welcome to come if you have done mindfulness before or are new to it.
A key component of the approach is coming as you are and finding what works for you. There is always choice on how to practice and it is not possible to do it the wrong way, you will always be invited to make your self comfortable and in same instances, gently snoozing through the practice is absolutely the right thing to do.
The movement component is an opportunity to inquire into how our body moves, if this feels right for you. We are not following a set of "exercises" and there are no "yoga poses".
You will be invited to notice your own body, go at your own pace and explore what your body needs.

I have done retreats like this for myself many times and always find it rewarding, partly because I make the space in my home to rest and practice rather than go away
The day will be structured so that we arrive and land, settle and then rest and after that gently re-engage and reintegrate into our lives.
